Say you have a piece of bread with jam on it. It's fallen to the ground, but jam side down. Do you still eat it?

What's on the ground? Is it dirt, or is it floorboards or stone or something?

Then yeah, of course!

I mean, the answer's yes either way, but it would've been a damn shame to drop it jam-side down in dirt, you know what I mean?

Oh, I know! If it fell in the dirt, I'd probably scrape it off. That's perfectly good bread.

Anyway, I dropped my lunch during work today and one of the other baristas said it was gross. I got kind of embarrassed about it so I wanted another perspective.

Yeah, you'd have to go the jamless-bread route. The bread's still fine, but you lose the jam getting the dirt off.

So what did this other guy want you to do, huh? Just waste food?

Apparently, he wanted me to throw it away! That's so ridiculous. I just don't get it, but I guess also maybe these people have never really had to work hard for their food before.

Great! I mean, I didn't really get to do much today, but I guess that's to be expected.

And besides, getting paid for not doing much of anything? If I'd have known jobs were such a piece of cake, I'd have gotten one long ago!

It was! I think I'll get to try something hands-on pretty soon. Mostly today was just Belinda working on me, showing me stuff.

It's kinda funny, really! I always knew I had a perfect bod, but I never knew there was so much to know ABOUT it!

Sounds like you learned a lot. What kind of stuff did she teach you?

A bunch of stuff about how muscles work together, actually. And what they can get sore from, things like that. Stuff I kinda already knew from practice, but more teacher-like.
